Death row inmate asking state to reconsider execution

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NETWORK INDIANA) — Lawyers for a death row inmate are asking the Indiana Supreme Court to reconsider his execution.

Joseph Corcoran of Fort Wayne was found guilty of shooting four men in 1997.

Corcoran’s attorneys argue he is seriously mentally ill and suffers from hallucinations due to paranoid schizophrenia.

In June, Indiana Governor Holcomb and Attorney General Rokita asked the court to set an execution for Corcoran.

Killed 4 men in 1997. Why wasn’t he executed before 2000? Killing 4 is bad enough but he has now lived at public expense for over 25 years. Justice is supposed to e swift and sure. The murderer was insane when he killed his 4 victims. Son;t their families have a right to see justice done. Why do so many people stand up for criminals wanting them to be let off their full sentence?

Because it wasn’t one of their family members that were killed!
