Train and Empty Truck Collision

Police in Waterloo say a Norfolk Southern mail train hit a pickup truck that was left unoccupied on a railroad track. The pickup was left sitting on the track just west of the Center Street Crossing in town. The westbound train struck the pickup shortly after 4 a.m. and dragged it about one mile down the track before coming to a stop. The accident caused about 200 thousand dollars worth of damage to the train; pieces and parts of the pick up were scattered over a mile. No one was hurt.
