Father and Son Found Dead in Kosciusko County

Kosciusko County police were called to a shooting yesterday just before 12:30 p.m. on Country Road 800 west, north of Mentone.

Once officers arrived on the scene, they discovered that Nicholas Lowry, 18, had apparently died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  Detectives stated that Nicholas had just returned home from the Burket Educational Center where he had been a student.

Less than 12 hours later, the Kosciusko County police got a call about a house fire at that very same location on Country Road 800 west, north of Mentone.

Crews arrived and found the house fully engulfed and David Lowry, 53, the father of Nicholas, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The investigation is still on going at this time.
