Major Snow Storm Hits Fort Wayne

A major winter storm has forced the closure of many local schools for the day, while many others are opening their doors after a lengthy delay.  The system that dumped up to a foot of snow on much of the WOWO listening area, has moved off to the east.  Highway crews have been working since Tuesday to try and keep the roads passable, while police have responded to numerous weather-related traffic accidents.  The city of Fort Wayne says road crews will be working on the major travel routes this morning and will plow neighborhood streets later today.  Stay tuned to WOWO for the latest weather and traffic conditions.
