KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind (WOWO): Sherena Harris, 26, of Warsaw, is in the Kosciusko County Jail today on charges that she allegedly hit and injured her 4-year-old with a belt.

Kosciusko County police and officials from the Department of Child Services were performing a home inspection at 1692 East County Road 200 North, on Monday.

As case workers were interviewing the mother, they noted what appeared to be bruises on her 4-year-old daughter.  Harris was asked about the injuries, she later admitted to striking her daughter with a belt as well as previously taping her mouth shut on.  

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Harris on preliminary charges of felony battery resulting in bodily injury to a victim under the age of 14-years-old, as well as felony neglect of a child.  Harris is currently being held on a $2,000 bond as officers continue to investigate.
