India Man Extradited to Indiana for 24 Year Old Steuben County Homicide

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): The suspect of a 24 year old homicide case from Steuben County has been extradited from India back to Indiana. Mahfuz Huq had been living in Bangladesh under a different name. He had been in custody in India awaiting extradition for the last two years. He is accused of the fatal stabbing of Todd Kelley in August of 1989. Kelley's body was later discovered by his girlfriend at his home in Hamilton. Detective Kevin Smith, who headed the investigation that led to the discovery of Huq, worked with a United States Diplomatic Security Service Agent, the Department of Justice, FBI, and the Steuben County Sheriff's Department.
