Indiana Tech Enjoys Enrollment Jump as Others Fall

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP): Indiana Tech is seeing a boom in enrollment because of high interest in its health care programs. But other schools are seeing student numbers drop. Reports say Indiana Tech saw an increase of 1,136 students this year. It's the largest enrollment growth among northeastern Indiana colleges and universities. The largest enrollment drop in the area was at Ivy Tech. Numbers there fell by nearly 10 percent over last year. Ball State University also reported fewer students this year. School officials say the improving economy and efforts to boost the quality of students have contributed to enrollment declines across the country.
