More Frigid Temperatures in the Forecast for Next Week

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Much of Indiana has seen its coldest weather in a couple years, with even more frigid temperatures forecast for next week.

The National Weather Service recorded Friday morning lows of 10 below zero in Fort Wayne and Goshen. That set the coldest mark for the date ever recorded in Fort Wayne.

The weather service says the 2 below zero temperature recorded in Indianapolis on Friday was Indy’s coldest since January 21, 2011.

The state Department of Homeland Security reported more than a third of Indiana's 92 counties had a travel advisory or watch in place as cleanup continues from this week's snowfall.

More snow is forecast over the weekend, followed next week by lows between -10 and -20.
