Council Ok’s USF Project

FORT WAYNE, IND. (WOWO): City Council voted earlier this week to give $3 million dollars to a downtown project for the University of St. Francis.

It's part of a $12 million dollar plan to renovate the Scottish Rite Center and Chamber of Commerce for the school's media arts and business programs. The money will come from the city's legacy fund.

The grant originally met with resistance because some on council didn't think the project was what legacy funds were meant to be used for.

Reports have the project taking about 18 to 24 months to complete.
