Accused Driver to Undergo Mental Evaluation

A Fort Wayne man who crashed his car into another vehicle this winter will undergo a mental evaluation.

Jeremiah Therkelsen is accused of intentionally slamming into another car near the entrance to Canterbury Green Apartment February 7. According to the Journal-Gazette, his attorney thinks his mental health maybe a factor.

He told investigators he was attempting to kill himself.

Therkelsen is charged with aggravated battery, criminal recklessness and failing to stop after an accident. That crash left another man paralyzed with a broken spine.

He's held in the Allen County Jail for trial this summer.
