Council Okays Expansion for City Firm


FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): New jobs and tax breaks for a local company.

City council approved abatements for LH Carbide as they prepare to invest $1.6 million dollars into a project on the city’s southwest side. The company says it will also install $3.2 million dollars in equipment.

The company says the improvements will mean as many as 18 new jobs, paying an average of $68,000 per year. According to the Journal-Gazette, the tax breaks equal $484,000 dollars over ten years.
