Tension over Collective Bargaining Expected to Continue Tonight

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A resolution that would end collective bargaining for non-public safety workers could advance to Mayor Tom Henry after a City Council meeting taking place Tuesday night.

Two weeks ago city council voted to pass one of three ordinances that would end union negotiations for city workers.  At that meeting, Councilman John Shoaff filed a written request asking the body to reconsider the vote.

If council agrees, the measure would go back to committee. If the reconsideration vote fails, the original vote will stand and advance to Mayor Tom Henry. From the start Henry has voiced his opposition to any change in collective bargaining.
