Indy Man Charged in Deadly Crash

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Indianapolis police say a city man accused of deliberately striking a sport utility vehicle driven by his former girlfriend, causing it to veer into oncoming traffic and a head-on collision, killing a passenger, has been charged with murder.

Police say 41-year-old Seantel Marsden also faces charges of battery, criminal recklessness, and leaving the scene of an accident. He was taken into custody on Saturday and was being held without bond.

Police say 29-year-old Rashshadd Artis of Indianapolis died in the crash on Feb. 9. He was a passenger in the vehicle driven by 31-year-old Shanntel Lewis, who police say was Marsden’s former girlfriend. Lewis told police Marsden was chasing her and struck her vehicle several times. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office issued the arrest warrant on Friday.
