Indy Police: Hot Cars Can Be Deadly to Children

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is reminding motorists not to leave children or pets inside cars on hot days for even short periods of time. Police Chief Rick Hite says leaving children in hot cars is irresponsible, dangerous and against the law. Authorities say even at 72 degrees, the temperature inside a vehicle can increase by up to 40 degrees in an hour.
