Pence: Data Shows Indiana Students Second in Gains

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Governor Mike Pence says new federal education data shows Indiana's 4th and 8th grade students demonstrated the second largest improvement rate among states last year on standardized math and reading tests. The 2013 Nation's Report Card released yesterday by the National Center for Education Statistics and the U.S. Department of Education shows Indiana's 4th graders ranked fourth in the nation in average math scores.
