UPDATE – FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Allen County Coroner has identified the victim from a shooting near Cherry Hill Golf Club.

Brandon Bittner, 27, was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, in a home in the 9400 block of Greyhawk Drive, Monday night.  Medics were dispatched to the scene and Bittner was pronounced dead on the scene.

The manner of death is still pending further investigation.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police are investigating the shooting death of a man on the city’s Northeast side.

Police were called to a home on Greyhawk drive, near Cherry Hill Golf Club, just past 8pm Monday to find a man in critical condition, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police and EMTs provided medical care but the victim ended up dying at the scene. Police have since searched the inside and outside of the home, and spoken with witnesses, to collect evidence and try to figure out what happened.

The victim’s identity will be released later by the Allen County Coroner’s Office, and the investigation is ongoing.
