INDOT Reminds Motorists to Get Ready for Snow

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The Indiana Department of Transportation is reminding motorists to slow down under wintry driving conditions.

INDOT says the first snow of the season typically brings a higher rate of crashes and slide-offs as drivers readjust to driving in winter weather conditions. INDOT is warning that as the temperature drops, snow and ice could create travel problems.

INDOT crews were on the roads Monday in northern Indiana dealing with snow and ice and planned to be out in many other areas of the state on Tuesday.

INDOT recommends that in addition to slowing down, drivers allow more distance between them and other vehicles, especially INDOT's plow trucks.
