Body of Man Not Seen for Months Found Inside House

ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) – Police say investigators are suspicious about the death of a man whose decomposed body has been found inside an Anderson home.

Anderson police Sgt. William Casey says the body was found Sunday after a person went to the house on the city's south side to collect rent or mortgage payments. The person saw several notes on the front door, smelled an odor and called police.

Casey tells The Herald Bulletin that the house was immaculately kept on the inside, with several vehicles and a boat parked there. But he says a car that was missing is one that neighbors said he wouldn't let anyone else drive.

Neighbor Mary Jo Sink says she last saw the man in late December and thought he had gone to Florida for the winter.
