INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – A man who allegedly stole human brain samples from an Indianapolis medical history museum is facing new charges.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office filed two additional counts of burglary and an additional count of theft Monday against 21-year-old David Charles of Indianapolis in connection with break-ins at the Indiana Medical History Museum.
A probable cause affidavit says evidence recovered from the crime scene by a specialist with the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency included a bloody fingerprint of Charles' left pinkie finger.
Charles initially was arrested Dec. 16. Court documents allege he broke into the museum several times, stole jars of preserved brain samples and other tissue from long-dead psychiatric patients, and sold them online.
A telephone message seeking comment was left at a residential listing in Charles' name.
