More Indiana Companies Beefing Up Cybersecurity

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): More Indiana companies are beefing up their cybersecurity. Fifth Third Bank is among companies like JP Morgan Chase and Pepsi that are constantly on watch and some are even hiring security experts to strengthen their cyber defenses. This follows the security breach at Target where millions of customers had their information stolen by hackers.

Indianapolis-based Fifth Third Bank Spokesperson David Hosick says cyber crooks and hackers are getting more creative and that’s forcing companies to get more imaginative when it comes to securing information. He says they’re constantly warning customers to ignore e-mail scams claiming to represent Fifth Third Bank. Hosick says the bank will never send e-mails or texts asking customers to verify their information.
