Woman Found Dead After Fire In Indianapolis Home

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Officials in Indianapolis say a woman was found dead after firefighters put out a fire at her home.

The fire was reported about 4:15 a.m. Friday at a mobile home park on the city's east side.

Fire Capt. Rita Reith (rite) says crews were able to extinguish the blaze within about five minutes. Reith says family members told investigators that the 50-year-old woman lived alone.

Reith says the causes of the fire and the woman's death weren't immediately known. City fire and police investigators were at the scene.

She says a neighbor tried to get inside the home after the blaze broke out, but was turned back by the fire's heat.
