Notre Dame Says Endowment Up $1.5 Billion

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) – The University of Notre Dame says its endowment grew by $1.5 billion during the past year.

Notre Dame officials say the school's endowment reached $9.8 billion at the end of June. The university says that includes a 19.7 return on investments during the one-year period.

The endowment made some $300 million in spending distributions to the university during that time.

Officials say the South Bend school's endowment has nearly tripled since it was at $3.5 billion 10 years ago.
