Gov. Pence Discusses HIP 2.0 with US Health & Human Services

INDIANA (WOWO): Governor Mike Pence and US Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Matthews Burwell will be meeting today to discuss Indiana's proposed expansion of the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP).

HHS and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services must approve Indiana's waiver program, otherwise known as HIP 2.0, to let nearly 350,000 uninsured Hoosiers enroll by the start of 2015.

The Indiana Hospital Association is eagerly awaiting the outcome of today's meeting. Various in-state hospitals are getting ready to educate their patients on new coverage options and have given financial support to help fund the HIP 2.0 program.
