INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Defense and aerospace contractor Raytheon plans to move 250 jobs to Indianapolis.

Raytheon spokesman Mike Doble tells the Indianapolis Star that workers in Chula Vista, California south of San Diego, and Norfolk, Virginia were told last week that work at those depots would be consolidated to Indianapolis.

Doble says Raytheon will maintain smaller operations at those locations, close to customers. He says the move will allow Raytheon to improve efficiency and competitiveness.

Governor Pence is scheduled to attend a news conference Monday in Indianapolis about Raytheon's plans.
