Public Hearing Set For Ohio River Bridges Tolling Operator

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (AP) _ The public will have a chance later this month to sound off about the tentative selection of a Virginia company to handle electronic tolling on new Ohio River bridges linking Kentucky and Indiana.

The Indiana Finance Authority will hold a public hearing March 26 at the Sheraton Riverside Hotel in Jeffersonville on the tolling contractor. Indiana is leading the procurement on behalf of both states.

The finance authority voted Friday to allow a proposal submitted by Virginia-based Kapsch TrafficCom to move forward with the tolling contract process under Indiana's statutory procedures.

Kapsch TrafficCom was selected from among three bidders who participated in the proposal process. A joint evaluation committee composed of officials from both Indiana and Kentucky scored the proposals based on the best value.
