Baby Cow Thriving On Indiana Farm Following Hot Tub Swim

ROSSVILLE, Ind. (AP) _ A central Indiana farmer says the shivering baby cow he saved by taking it for a dip in his hot tub is now thriving with its herd.

Carroll County farmer Dean Gangwer tells WRTV-TV (http://bit.ly/1BAGFrD ) the calf and his mother have begun to bond and nurse over the past week. He says the mother has finally claimed her baby after initially abandoning him when he was born.

The third-generation farmer says he found the newborn calf, named Leroy, barely breathing in a snowbank earlier this week. Gangwer says he jumped fully clothed into his hot tub after deciding that would be the best way to warm Leroy up. He then took the calf inside and wrapped him in electric blankets.

Gangwer says he's considering keeping Leroy on the farm for fun.
