Kosciusko County Deputies Trained On Drug Overdose Drug

WARSAW, Ind. (WOWO): Kosciusko County authorities have been trained on a drug that can reverse drug overdoses.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department finished training and issuing “Narcan” to its deputies. According to officials, the lifesaving drug rapidly reverses heroin and other overdoses. Narcan is administered via nasal spray, potentially reversing an overdose before it results in a fatality.

In recent years, Kosciusko County has seen an increase in heroin and prescription pill overdoses.

Sheriff Rovenstine would also like to remind people that the most important thing for people to remember is they must call 911 as soon as possible for the use of NarCAN to be effective.
