FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): IPFW has given Fort Wayne’s mayor a special honor.

The university recognized Mayor Tom Henry with the IPFW Champion Award Thursday night, citing his involvement with IPFW throughout the past eight years, including his participation in the IPFW “Sculpture with Purpose” project and the college’s “Big Event” community service day.

The award is given annually to recognize those who make outstanding contributions and service in efforts to connect the college with the community.

Henry calls the award an “honor.”
