Former Governor Evan Bayh campaigns in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Evan Bayh stopped in the Summit City Thursday morning to campaign.

The former Indiana governor and U.S. senator is running against Republican Congressman Todd Young for the U.S. Senate.

He made his first stop in Fort Wayne since he announced his run for his former seat. He is going across the state to listen to voters, according to our news partners at 21Alive.

“I think I can play a role maybe in bringing people together,” Bayh said to 21Alive. “Get Democrats and Republicans working together to try and grow our economy, try and balance our budget, fight terror. I felt if I could do that, I couldn’t stand on the sidelines.”
