FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): There were some scary moments for passengers in a flight from Fort Wayne to Minneapolis this morning.

A problem with a plane’s landing gear forced an emergency landing at the Fort Wayne International Airport shortly after takeoff.

A spokesperson for SkyWest Airlines tells WOWO news via email that the plane took off normally with about 50 passengers on board, but soon the plane’s crew realized there was a mechanical problem.

They ended up circling the airport and eventually landed safely, getting all the passengers off the plane normally at the gate.

Mechanics worked on the plane while SkyWest made efforts to get passengers where they were headed.
