Two Gas City restaurant owners sentenced for dodging sales tax

GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (NETWORK INDIANA): Sentenced for dodging sales taxes–the two owners of five Mexican restaurants and one pizza shop that closed in Gas City.

Sentenced for dodging sales taxes–the two owners of five Mexican restaurants and one pizza shop that closed in Gas City. Manuel Rodriquez Alonso and Rosalio Sanchez were charged with under-reporting an estimated one-point-eight million dollars in sales–failing to collect state sales taxes.

After pleading guilty, the defendants have agreed to pay close to 143-thousand dollars to the Indiana Department of Revenue. Sanchez and Alonso also got suspended prison sentences.
