Apartment fire on Hoover Drive, one evacuated

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to 305 Hoover Dr. East around 10:20 p.m. Monday on reports of an apartment fire.

On arrival, the crews found one person had already evacuated the apartment.

There were no other people inside the apartment, but the crews located and rescued a cat that was still inside.

The fire was located in the kitchen, and the Fire Department was able to stop it from spreading.

The apartment suffered from minor fire damage, and moderate water and smoke damage.

No injuries were reported, and the fire was under control by 10:38 p.m.
