Gas line ruptured in one-vehicle crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A crash involving left emergency crews scrambling to prevent a catastrophe in southeast Fort Wayne Friday.

According to our partners in news at ABC 21, a vehicle drove off the road at the intersection of South Anthony Blvd. and Hayden Street Friday afternoon and slammed into a house. The crash ruptured a natural gas line, creating a big leak that could be heard from down the block and sending the odor throughout the area.

Police and fire crews were able to close off the area from foot and vehicle traffic until the gas could be shut off. The vehicle’s driver was reportedly in good condition.
