Auburn Police Believe Series of Stolen Vehicles and Burglary Related

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Auburn police believe that a series of stolen vehicles and a recent break-in are related.

Early Thursday morning, Auburn police found a stolen pickup in a Kroger Parking lot, on 1005 West Seventh Street. The vehicle, had been reported stolen from Garrett on Wednesday.

As Auburn police were searching for the driver of the stolen pickup, a K-9 track led officers to a nearby Subway. The restaurant’s window was broken and police say the sub shop had been burglarized. While police were investigating at the Subway, officers were approached by two people. They said that their Toyota Tundra had been stolen from a local Kentucky Fried Chicken parking lot.

In the meantime, police also received a call about a Toyota Tundra crashing into a building on 510 North Street.

The Garrett Police Department did make an arrest of an individual who has been charged with the theft of the first reported stolen vehicle, but police believe all of these events are related and they're still investigating.
