MUNCIE, Ind. (WOWO): A long-time Ball State maintenance supervisor has been charged with possession of child pornography.

University police say that during a routine review of the school’s computer network Randal R. Schmidt’s computer was flagged and was confiscated on April 4.

The Indiana State Police Cyber Crime Unit is now involved in the investigation and Schmidt is suspended from his job and cannot come on campus. Police say they don’t believe anyone else was involved.

Schmidt had worked there for 20 years.
