Biomedical Companies to Combine

WARSAW, Ind. (WOWO): Two of Warsaw's largest companies will become one. In a $13 billion dollar deal medical device company Zimmer has agreed to purchase Biomet. In a public statement, officials with both companies say they were already leaders in replacement joints and other musculoskeletal products. This will only solidify that position. The deal includes cash and stock and should be finalized by early next year. No word how it will effect local jobs or if a name change is in the works for either company.
