Diana Reed has been honored with the Postmaster General Hero Award. She received the award Monday morning for assisting an elderly woman that was in distress along her route last year. 

According to our partners in news at 21Alive, Reed found the 80 year old woman inside her car in the garage. When Reed approached her, the woman said she was waiting for her because she had been locked out of her house and she didn't have a phone or family around. Reed says she continued on her route once she knew the woman was safe.
