FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The City of Fort Wayne is putting some restrictions on trash pick-ups.
Starting Monday, March 23rd, crews will only pick up trash and recycling cans issued by the City of Fort Wayne, according to a city press release. That means extra bags or boxes won’t be taken, and neither will bulk items.
Mayor Tom Henry says the new restrictions are due to public health guidelines in the wake of the spread of COVID-19 in northeast Indiana.
The new rules will be in effect through April 15th at the earliest. Read the full release here.

What are we to do with bulk items? Many people don’t have a way to take this stuff away. And take it where? It will just pile up at homes. That is not a healthy solution. Also, the trash people broke the lid off my bin and didn’t care. My bin doesn’t have a lid because of them, not me.
@Deborah call the trash people and they will deliver you a new one in replace of that one.
trash pickup is already a ****show, so why not?
i agree, they broke my lid last year, they empty the trash then they just throw the bins.
it is only held on by one hinge, called them plenty of times and was told it would be replaced, it still has not.
so why are we paying them, if you was this bad at your job your a55 would have been fired long ago
Call the city and they will deliver a new bin with a lid.
Just don’t hold your breath through the waiting process, you’ll end up being one of Allen counties statistics.
