FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — CME Construction has announced plans for a second Sonic Drive-In location in northeast Indiana, continuing the popular restaurant chain’s expansion in the Fort Wayne market.
The new Sonic Drive-In will be located at 4615 Bass Road near the Fort Wayne Soccer Stadium, an area experiencing continued commercial and recreational growth on the city’s southwest side.
CME Construction will serve as the design-builder for the project, which is expected to be completed in fall 2026. The restaurant will bring Sonic’s signature drive-in dining experience to the growing southwest Fort Wayne community and provide another dining option near one of the region’s newest sports and entertainment destinations.
“We’re excited to continue partnering on the expansion of Sonic in northeast Indiana,” said Ryan D. Hellinger, president of CME Construction. “This project is another great example of the continued momentum happening throughout the Fort Wayne area, and we’re proud to help bring new development and opportunities to the community.”
Sonic Drive-In owner Alex Richardson said the company is eager to continue growing its presence in the area.
“Sonic Drive-In is excited to further expand in the Fort Wayne market,” Richardson said. “We’re committed to providing quality experiences that keep guests coming back again and again.”
The project is expected to generate construction activity throughout the year while contributing to the area’s expanding mix of retail, dining and entertainment offerings.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Sonic Drive-In is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, at 10 a.m. at the project site, located at 4615 Bass Road in Fort Wayne.
