Columbia City playground vandals arrested

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two people were arrested Monday after police say they vandalized a Columbia City Park over the weekend.

The Columbia City Parks Department announced on Facebook that the two male suspect, which were caught on surveillance camera, were arrested about six hours after the photos were posted online.

The two vandalized the park’s new playground, setting some of the plastic play equipment on fire at around 11:30 p.m. Saturday night. Witnesses who noticed the fire were able to put it out with water bottles, according to Columbia City police.

The suspects’ names and ages have not yet been released.
