ANGOLA, IND. (WOWO) An Illinois man was arrested Wednesday, December 17, 2025, after Indiana State Police say he was driving the wrong way and made an illegal U-turn on the Indiana Toll Road near Fremont.

Troopers stopped the vehicle and reported detecting a strong odor of marijuana. The driver, identified as 65-year-old Mario Lloyd of Illinois, was arrested without incident.

Lloyd faces several charges, including operating a vehicle while intoxicated, criminal recklessness, possession of a controlled substance, and operating with a controlled substance in his body. He is being held at the Steuben County Jail.

The Indiana State Police remind the public that driving under the influence is illegal in all 50 states and poses significant danger to everyone on the road. Possession of marijuana remains illegal in Indiana, and officials urge residents to make the responsible choice by finding a sober driver.
