Driver hospitalized after I-69 crash in DeKalb County

AUBURN, IND. (WOWO) Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon on southbound Interstate 69 near mile marker 339.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened shortly before 5 p.m. when a 2019 Toyota RAV4 left the roadway on the west side of the interstate. Witnesses told deputies the vehicle traveled through a fence, continued across a field, and came to rest in the field.

The driver, identified as 50-year-old Ellen Millhouse of Auburn, told investigators she was unsure where she was or what had happened. She was transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center for evaluation. Her condition was listed as stable.

Deputies reported minor damage to the vehicle and damage to the fence. No other vehicles were involved, and no additional injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
