Daniels Heads to India to Strengthen Partnerships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) _ Purdue University President Mitch Daniels is heading to India to visit with university and corporate partners.

Daniels says Purdue has long and deep ties with India that involve research collaborations with leading educational institutions. He says the university has opportunities to develop strategic partnerships in agriculture, engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, science, technology, education and defense and cybersecurity.

Nearly 1,500 students from India are enrolled at Purdue and thousands of Purdue alumni live in India.

The former Indiana governor leaves Saturday for India. In January, Daniels led a Purdue delegation that visited Colombia to further a nation-university partnership begun in 2010.
