Indianapolis Hosting International Cricket Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – The city of Indianapolis is playing host to an international cricket tournament.

The International Cricket Council Americas Tournament runs through Saturday at the World Sports Park in Indianapolis. Teams from Bermuda, Canada, Suriname and the U.S. are playing to advance to a tournament in Europe this summer. The teams will play a dozen games during the week. It's free for the public to watch.

The mayor of Indianapolis pushed for $5 million to expand the park so the city can host cricket, soccer, lacrosse and rugby games.

Indianapolis was to host the U.S. National Cricket Championship last summer but plans fell through.
