INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana Senate President Pro Tem David Long and Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz announced their appointments for the ISTEP review panel.

The ISTEP test will be eliminated in July 2017 and a 23-member panel of education experts and stakeholders will make a recomendation for an alternative test.

Long was tasked with the job of appointing four people to the panel. He appointed Jean Russell, 2016 Indiana Teacher of the Year; Steve Baker, Bluffton High School Principal; Dr. Kenneth Folks, East Allen County Schools Superintendent; and Marilyn Moran-Townsend, Chairman and CEO of CVC Communications.

Ritz also announced her appointees on Tuesday. She appointed Superintendent of Fort Wayne Community Schools Wendy Robinson and three others.
