Decatur Teacher Wins $1 Million

DECATUR, Ind. (WOWO): Michelle Hutker of Decatur admits she is not a regular Hoosier Lottery player, but she struck it big when she won $1 million in the March 19th Powerball drawing.

She said she had the winning ticket for a week before checking it.

Hutker, a fifth-grade teacher, said the win is all about her family including, her husband of 14 years, Dax, and their two children, ages 13 and 18.

“I'm excited that my kids will have a stable future because this is such a blessing for our family. I have also dreamed of taking the kids on vacation to Hawaii where my husband and I got married,” Hutcker expressed while claiming her check at the Hoosier Lottery headquarters in Indianapolis.

Hutker won her $1 million by matching the five white ball numbers, without the Powerball.
