INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO) – According to the Indiana Department of Revenue, the most frequently asked question during tax season is “Where’s my tax refund?”  DOR gives a number of options to check your refund status.  These options allow you to access your tax refund information in “real-time” and will tell you the current status of your refund.

The easiest option is to go online and use their Refund Status Interactive Tool.  This allows people to check their refund status 24 hours a day from any internet browser.  Individuals just need to go to dor.in.gov and click on “Learn How” under “Check the Status of Your Refund Online or by Phone.”

For anyone who doesn’t have internet access, they can call the DOR’s automated refund phone line anytime on any day at 317-223-4018.

When using either option, the DOR says you will need to have your social security number, exact amount of refund and the tax year of the refund.

For those individuals who prefer to talk to a real person, the DOR offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Indiana Department of Revenue also says to keep in mind that you should allow at least two weeks for those who file online and four weeks for those who file paper returns.

Make sure all tax forms are filled out correctly as if they are incorrectly filled out then that may result in a delay of your refund.

Customers should contact their bank directly if there are issues with direct deposit of their processed refunds.

If individuals should respond immediately if the DOR tries to contact them.
