Director of Voucher Program Arrested in Scam Case

Six people have been arrested in a case of food stamp fraud.  One of those arrested is Betty L. Anderson, head of the Housing Choice voucher program.  The Journal Gazette says Anderson has been charged with felony theft and misdemeanor welfare fraud.  Anderson is accused of conspiring with a female accomplice to spend $35,000 that was accidentally deposited into to the other woman’s food stamp account.  Five other people who were involved in the scam have not been identified.
