Driver Loses Control, Crashes Vehicle in Thursday Night Storm

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ind. (WOWO): Two people suffered injuries in a Thursday night crash when severe weather hit northeast Indiana.

Just after 6 p.m. police say Eric Troyer was driving his SUV on SR 9 at CR 150 in Columbia City. Troyer was riding with two passengers, 19-year-old Patricia Dingley and 19-year-old Brock Shepard, when he lost control and rolled the vehicle.

At some point during the crash, Shepard was ejected from the vehicle.

Both Dingley and Shepard were not wearing seat belts. They were transported to a Fort Wayne hospital with shoulder and back/chest injuries.

Police say Troyer was traveling too fast for the rainy weather conditions.
