Efforts underway to find occupant for former Big Lots store

Openverse.com

DEFIANCE, Ohio. (WOWO) – Efforts are now underway to find an occupant for the former Big Lots store on N. Clinton St.

The store has been empty since the closeout sales last fall as part of Bog Lots’ national shutdowns.

While some interest has been shown in the retail space on the Northtowne Mall property, nothing has been finalized.

Big Lots is the third retail store that has closed in Defiance in the last eight months, following two Rite-Aid stores that were shut down last summer due to bankruptcy proceedings that had began in October of 2023.

The Northtowne Mall manager has stated that while some interest has been shown by a few candidates, there have not yet been any arrangements that are at the stage of being announced to the public.
